Have you ever had an idea, a project, or a feeling and instead of simply grabbing ahold and running with it you spent countless days tweaking, second guessing, and searching for the right way to move forward? Yep! Me too. I’ve been doing that very thing for a little over a year now.
Today I am throwing caution to the wind. Today I am stepping forward in faith. Faith that it is okay to have more unanswered questions than answered. Faith that it is okay to move forward knowing mistakes will be made along the way. Faith in knowing that so long as faith and gratitude are the guiding lights, tomorrow will unfold in new and exciting ways!
Hello, my name is Phyllis Kiernan and it is with joy, optimism, and a great deal of faith that I am pleased to share the next few steps of my journey with you. Today I have launched the website www.phylliskiernan.com and blog Blossoming As I Am. I am also pleased to share that I am working on my first book tentatively titled Blossoming As I Am, Embracing Imperfect with Thankfulness.
Blossoming is defined as: coming into one’s own; becoming evident; making an appearance. For me, Blossoming As I Am means to embrace myself as I am perceived flaws and all. If I had a penny for every time I have said to myself, “I’ll do it tomorrow. Tomorrow I will be better. Tomorrow I will…” Have you ever said, “When I lose another 20 pounds, I will… After I save enough money, I will… If I were only as smart as him/her I would…?”
I have spent the better part of my life in the pursuit of perfection. Even as I am consciously working to let go of the need to be perfect, I realized that I was doing that very thing once again. You see, I have been doubting myself and waiting for the perfect time to move forward. No more. Today I have decided to throw caution to the wind, follow my intuition, and take a giant leap of faith.
Have you ever heard the saying, it takes a village to raise a child? I am a firm believer that it does take a village. And that same village can either take down or build up one another. It is my hope that Blossoming As I Am will become a place to build up one another, a place to embrace who we are perceived flaws and all, a place to share experiences, a place of safety…
As many of you know, I am the owner of Fleurenasci and Always Blooming Creations. And yes, I love flowers. More than that I love discovering the meanings attached to flowers. Let us take that a step further. If you look closely at a rose bush, a row of trees, a bed of pansies, are any two blooms, branches or heights the same? When a rose bush blooms anew, are they the same as the first? You will find that while similar, each has their own distinct characteristics. In fact, those are celebrated attributes.
Let us embrace our imperfect; let us celebrate the unique attributes of one another!
